Native Bloodroot Plant, Original Watercolor

My family and I recently went driving down Ozark backroads, which has been a long-cherished past time of ours, especially on rainy days when we can’t get out and hike. One Sunday we found ourselves east of Elkins, Arkansas and stumbled upon a Natural Spring, so we pulled over to eat our packed lunch.

The rain had stopped enough for us to get out and look around. It didn’t take long to notice that the lush, diverse flora all around us. I mean…there were things I had never seen before. One of which was Bloodroot. I have heard about it, but never found it on my own. I’ve since learned that this plant is used to induce purging to help you release what is no longer yours. I find this wildly appropriate for this season.
