Black Walnut Snake with Gold

This handsome snake was crafted using Arkansas native black walnut sourced right here in the Ozarks. Inspired by folk art and Ozark Folklore this walnut snake was carefully cut from a scroll saw.

After meditatively sanding each curve of the snake I hand carved small grooves and textures onto the surface of the snake to mimic scales. The head and tail and painted with a matte black acrylic paint. Ornamental gold details adorn two sides of the snake. This piece was sealed with tung oil for longevity.

This snake comes with a pre-drilled hole for easy wall display or it can stand alone on a shelf.
