look what i gave:

a limited edition print from little paper planes by hannah stouffer
{jonathan trimmed his beard recently, and i plan to cut my hair…seemed appropriate since hair has been the topic of alot of our conversations lately}
happy valentines day!

just a little hairy something…happy thursday to you!

our trees can only dream of looking like this again….[someday]

im thinking of turning this into a linoleum cut. i will let you know if i do. regardless….a lino print will be developed soon.

i think im in a blue phase. it just seems to pop in a way that no other color can do for me right now.
this is a small studio with stairs you should be careful walking up.

the best form of this is face to face

seems like the remnants of a garage sale…

an ecclectic gathering of faces and personalities

there isnt much to say here other than amazing.

again….this derives from my strange obsession with random objects placed in an organic situation. so, here we have an ironing board in the forest.

this was nearly climbing out of my chest tonight…
{this sort of looks like a strawberry…its definitly supposed to be a heart, as strawberries dont usually feel like theyre going to climb out of my chest!}

well some of you might actually be wondering why i havent posted in nearly a week, and i dont really have a good excuse. i could blame it on the fact that i am sick, or that i have 2 kids and a husband, or that i am back in school. but i wont.
this illustration pretty much sums up how i feel today: crazy hair, no body (because it hurts so bad from being sick), freckles, and an overall unappeal.
no worries though, i am progressively feeling better, tomorrow should be amazing!

having to stay indoors through the cold winter = a pale face

as my my husband usually sits in the evenings and reads, i try to take some time to draw after the girls have gone off to bed. One particular evening he was reading the brothers karamazov (for the second time), by dostoyevsky.
I asked him to tell me the last line that he read in hopes of some sort of inspiration. So he read: “how can you talk of joy…coughing as though you would tear yourself to pieces.”
For some reason, that i cant remember why, i drew a depressed-looking, weak man with his shirt torn to shreads…

a violet something…happy wednesday to you!

this weeks topic is “contained” so the first thing that [strangely] came to mind was a tree stump in a jar…so i drew just that…

i love these two. they seem to have such a wonderful and kind personality. i would love to hear what they had to say if it were possible…
she finally resolved to leave her hair as it was and to stop worrying about it.

happy new year!
we should make it fine in 2009.
{whatever that means in your world}

a planted head in a ‘handsome pedestal container’.
this is a drawing that i gave to suzanne for christmas and realized that it wasnt on my site yet…

…and again….anther drawing done in my moleskine planner…

ill be honest…when i read this weeks topic, i had no idea what it meant. so after looking it up, i learned that it means in secrecy, or held in secret. so the first thing that came to mind was something scandalous. that then led to a drawing of innocent footsie between two eccentric lovers…
