The Little Craft Show recap

So The Little Craft Show happened. And it was mind blowing to say the least! This was an event that my friend Natalie and I dreamt up and ran with. It’s easy to sit and dream of an ideal event, but my lans….we actually did it! With nearly 600 attendants and 25 vendors, we were thrilled to bring a new indie craft show to Northwest Arkansas and we plan to keep it going every December. A spring show would be fun, but we want to let the excitement swell until December! There were so many incredible people involved in making this event happen….so thanks y’all…each and every one of you!

p.s. Happy Christmas Eve!

And last but certainly not least...my excellent companion, friend, and all around badass.

Hey everyone! We just got back from the Austin Renegade Holiday Sale from this past weekend and it rocked our socks off! We saw so many incredible vendors with extraordinary talent, along with a plethora of hipsters, a Mer-Jack, chicken tattoos, plenty of beer, and knit balls, by Knitta Please (I LOVE their name)! I tweeted a few more pictures that you can see here if you haven’t had enough! :)

"extension of a womans self." installation of slip cast crocheted houses;homes. {proud to own one of these!}

organizing imaginary space (in progress)

this is merely a "sketch" by mary for a larger more complete project. beautiful nonetheless.

cake made by mimi {& raine}. table cloth made from 25cent bandanas found at a thrift store.

raine wanted to have pies thrown in her face.

the donkeys, elephants, and independents all showed up to celebrate Raine’s seventh year of life! Raine picked the theme of “president party” {not sure where it came from} for her birthday, it was fun making this happen for her.

a bronze cassette tape.

once temporal….now permanent.

this was created by carving a cassette tape into a block of plaster, then creating a sand mold, and finally casting it in none other than bronze at the generous hank kaminsky’s foundry. exciting.

-fantastic 2010 to you!-

to fill you in:

ezmah likes spaghetti,

raine made shadow puppets,

we had a beautiful thanksgiving at the allen house,

later discovered that turkey really does make you sleepy...

ezmah experienced her first white christmas,

dasien was reminded of her heritage,

now we are simply trying to relax.

this year i received some pretty incredible gifts for my birthday. amazing enough that i thought i should share with you and show a bit of appreciation.

included in the photo is a new {much needed and larger} french press from jonathan. he also printed photos and updated the frames around our house as an added gift {hence the framed photo of the girls}, abby made an incredible hardbound book for me {that is blank inside} which probably deserves its own photo, the book and the precious stuffed owl were from both abby and suzanne. raine made a halloween themed triptych to give me, you can only see part of it in the background {it includes a bat (shown), a witch on a broom, and two cats}, also, my incredible inlaws surprised me with a cast iron chimenea, my mother bought me a ton of new clothes, pops sent money, and on top of it all, i was fed mexican and american delicacies for lunch and dinner!!
