I pretty much haven’t left my studio for the last 10 hours. Im preparing for a show that I’m hanging tomorrow morning and I think that I had to have walked at least a mile today while pacing all over this room!
Monthly Archive for January, 2012
My dear friend Natalie got me the 2012 leah duncan calendar! I’m elated! I’m so lucky to have such incredible people in my life that know how to tug on my heart strings.
Finally….I’ve had a sudden burst of inspiration. I love when this happens. It seems to be the best side of me and I don’t want to leave the studio when it happens. I have three shows just around the corner and I have been worried that I wouldn’t have anything new. As usual though, if I have a little pressure and a deadline approaching, I perform at my best. Here are the dates and locations of my upcoming shows:
I have a reception on February 4th from 10-noon at Ozark Natural Foods
March-April my work will be on display at NWACC (location TBA)
July is my large show with John L. Newman of The University of Arkansas at the Arts Center of the Ozarks.
So in true form….life just happened to me.
Life changing occurrences that make you wake up and ask yourself what you’re actually doing cause you to think long and very hard. It can be a deep dark place, and for me right now it is. In my attempt to crawl out of this, I’ve decided to take a walk everyday. There are no boundaries. There are no rules…well…except these three. 1.) take a walk 2.) take one photo & 3.) post it on my blog.
The combination of walking and photographing forces me to walk + it forces me to be consistent + it forces me to be still and listen + inspiration might actually sprout from this. My hope is that “a walk a day” will last a long time. I have no time restriction…I just want to walk, heal, and blog. So this challenge seems doable. Wish me luck.
