does it get any better than this? ive been burning to create this sort of performance/living art for a few months now. one of my plans is to place an empty strip of primed canvas in a highly trafficked area and let the canvas be created by the elements its surrounded by. essentially…leave a snail trail. i cannot express to you how much seeing Semâ Bekirovic‘s piece excites me!

our rocking chair painted in watercolor.

as i was eating my first clementine for the day (thanks to abby for my new addiction to them), i noticed the little trees that they contained within the peel. i foresee a softground etching in the future! these would make perfect little tree imprints onto a plate to etch….im excited with the ideas and possibilities that my little clementine forest contains!

hope you all have a nice weekend!
{this is what happens when you leave a 6 year old alone with a pin cushion!}

im glad the semester is over.
summer school begins soon…<sigh>

…assuming they like peanut butter and croutons.

a few days ago raine had two of her bottom teethed pulled (because the larger ones were coming in)…..so through our discussions of the tooth fairy, she inquired whether or not the tooth fairy left presents for children instead of money. more specifically, she wanted to know if the tooth fairy ever left crystals for kids, and continued to state that she hoped the tooth fairy would surprise her with crystals.
luckily the tooth fairy is a clever little pack rat and was able to scavenge up these “crystals” from a bag of rocks and minerals i had been holding on to from my old college geology class.

i took these several months ago and recently came across them again. i find them stunning. i hope to make some etchings from this inspiration.
